Account Manager
Job Overview
The Account Manager serves as the primary point of contact to our hospital clients using internal resources to exceed client expectations. This position will support clients by assisting in the management of all aspects of the contract management life-cycle including evaluation, negotiation, implementation and performance monitoring. This role works closely with other areas of the firm, including Analytics, Legal and Credentialing, to achieve success in the role of a trusted strategic consultative partner to our clients.
Responsibilities
- Provide and manage full spectrum of contract management with hospital clients
- Clear and consistent communication and presentation of contracting project status to hospital clients and insurance company representatives
- Build and maintain professional relationships with hospital and insurance company staff through trust and confidence
- Evaluate terms of contractual agreements in a language that is legally binding and in accordance with the business requirements of hospital clients
- Understand and share market trends and upcoming governmental/private insurance changes with hospital clients
- Actively participate in development and implementation of ongoing service strategy to ensure client satisfaction
- Properly maintain client documentation storage in accordance with workplace confidentiality guidelines
- Effectively communicate with insurance company representatives to gain a thorough understanding of hospital/payer-specific reimbursement, and ensure prompt notification of time-sensitive contractual requirements on behalf of clients
- Proactively identify issues, risk, and areas of improvement and participate in the development of mitigation solutions
- Special projects, as assigned
Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of applicable experience required
- Experience: Minimum 2-4 years of related experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Healthcare/Managed Care experience preferred
- Provider relations and/or provider network experience preferred
- Knowledge of claims processing preferred
Qualifications
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- High-level organizational, time management, and project management skills
- Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects in a timely manner
- Capacity to tackle a diverse range of tasks ranging from basic to complex
- Strong analytical skills to identify and provide solutions to complex problems
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Willing to work in person in our Elmhurst office location
- Willing to occasionally travel overnight for on-site client visits
